Learning methodologies are a fundamental part of our Pedagogical Model. They move us away from traditional education because our teaching-learning process is active.

We want students to get involved, interact, and participate — not just receive information — through methodologies with CAR characteristics:

• Cooperative: Students work together to achieve shared goals, maximizing their own learning and that of their peers.

• Reflective: We foster deep knowledge, the generation of new ideas, and the development of critical thinking visible in the classroom.

Student learning is achieved through:

We focus on shaping and growing the heart of each of our students. We teach them the joy of living a full life, grounded in universal moral values.

We aspire for our students to have a lived faith, through a personal encounter with Christ in prayer, the life of grace, and the sacraments.

All of this leads to the holistic formation of positive leaders who, through their social skills and assertive communication, transform society.

We want our students to live a joyful faith and to put their values into action for the common good, understanding that it is in our hands to make a positive change.

We want students to use technology effectively and efficiently as a tool to boost productivity, develop creativity, communicate ideas, and learn collaboratively — without forgetting the responsibility that comes with its use.

Through educational technology, robotics, and the STEAM methodology (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math), we want students to see it:

• As a useful and necessary resource for learning.
• As a means to develop digital competencies.

• To lay the technological foundations for the next educational levels.

Our middle school students experience English in different spaces and learning opportunities. The academic focus on English at our school is acquired through language exposure so they can communicate fluently in spoken and written form in the second language they are learning, while developing the competencies that the globalized world demands.

Our students develop professional competencies in the 4 language skills:

• Listening: Understand conversations and audio clearly.
• Speaking: Express their ideas in English fluently to have effective conversations.
• Writing: Compose detailed and clear texts.
• Reading: Understand long and demanding texts.

We educate in every moment, space, and environment. Every opportunity, inside and outside the classroom, is used for educational and formative interventions. We have several resources that support this process:

• Formative, flexible, interactive, and collaborative environments and spaces that foster personal, transcendent, and community learning. ‍
• Physical and digital educational materials that help maximize student capabilities according to the expected graduate profile.‍
• Educational technology that supports research and the production of content and solutions

In middle school, sports become an opportunity to build will and character, to apply strategy and tactical thinking to achieve victory — always respecting fair play — improving self-perception and social relationships.

Students also participate in inter-school tournaments across different disciplines. The Friendship Tournament (Torneo de la Amistad) is the most important sporting event of the Red de Colegios Semper Altius and one of the sports activities with the largest number of participants in Latin America.
